Meet Kayda:
Our Bearded Dragon!

Testimonials

Parent, March 2024

Animals in Mind has been a lifeline for us. Lynn connects intuitively with our young person, helping them build confidence, reduce anxiety, and find something positive to look forward to each week. The animals offer calm, comfort and a welcome distraction, while Lynn’s gentle guidance supports real coping strategies. We’re so grateful for the care, compassion and encouragement she provides.

Rectory Farm Primary School

From the start of our correspondence, Lynn was helpful and very accommodating. The price was also incredible for the quality of the visit. All my class got to interact with  several animals and were able to ask lots of questions to develop their learning. Lynn was informative, warm and adapted her visit to suit our needs.

I was particularly impressed with how she catered for our SEND children. Overall an experience myself and the children will never forget. The smiles on their faces were priceless.

I really look forward to my sessions with Lynn and the animals. They help to relax me and they’re really fun too.
Frodo the crested gecko is my favourite.

I enjoy being able to learn all about each animal and I also enjoy doing craft activities when we make enrichment treats for the animals or model animals out of clay. It was fun when we learnt some sign language for the animal names too.

I like talking to Lynn because we can relate to each other and it’s not like other therapy where you feel interrogated.

Parent, Northampton

Lynn and Buffy the Cat helped my son so much. He was being home schooled, but struggled with anxiety and temper outbursts.

After his six sessions, he could manage his emotions better, grew in confidence and improved his listening too. He loved meeting Kayda, the Bearded dragon as a treat at the end of his sessions. The reports Lynn provided kept us informed of progress, and taught us strategies for in the home and home schooling. We can’t thank Lynn, Buffy (and Kayda) enough.

17yr Old - Berrywood Hospital Client (in-patient) December 2023

I really looked forward to seeing Lynn and the animals (particularly Gaston, the Gecko) on Fridays, it gave me something to look forward to all week, and at the visit something to take my mind off the troubles and issues I was facing.

Lynn and the animals never judged me, they were a great distractor and helped me to grow slowly in confidence and believe in myself.

Parent, Kettering

My son started visiting Lynn in September 2021, as we needed help with OCD and anxiety. X met a few of the lovely animals at the start, but mostly worked with Bob, the cat. He would prefer to work with Bob, as he ‘was different too, with his missing eye’. He loved it when Bob rubbed his head up and down on X’s legs as he arrived. He’d tell us that Bob was waiting for him. We got great progress reports from Lynn, and the video clips warmed our hearts to see him showing such kindness to Bob. We saw a difference in his skills in empathising, and expression quite quickly and after 7 weeks, he was noticeably less anxious, and happy.

Young Person (in patient) at Berrywood Hospital September 2022

Dear Lynn
Thank you so much for the past nine sessions, I have loved it so so much. At the start, I was very shy and hesitant and it has improved my confidence. I was really nervous when presenting Kayda to the staff in the unit, but I loved it and am so proud. I genuinely can’t thank you enough for all that you have done for me and all of us.
